What quality should I use?
90% is a good default — near-lossless for JPEG. 80% is balanced. Below 60% you'll see artifacts. PNG doesn't use quality — it's lossless by default.
What happens to transparency?
PNG and WebP support transparency. If you convert a transparent PNG to JPEG, the background becomes white.
